New Hampshire Food Industries Education Foundation
The New Hampshire Food Industries Education Foundation was created to provide educational scholarships to students in New Hampshire’s food industry. Students who are either employed by, or have parents that are employed by members of the NH Grocers Association are eligible. These include grocery stores, convenience stores and their suppliers. Scholarships are awarded on a one year basis for students attending traditional colleges and universities as well as vocational and technical schools.
The scholarships will be one time, non-renewable awards of $1,000. The scholarships will be applied to college expenses at any accredited college, university, vocational or technical school in the United States. A student may transfer from one college to another and retain the award.
The selection of the winners will be based on a combination of the academic merit, in addition to college GPA, ACT scores, SAT scores, and extracurricular activities. An independent Selection Committee of educators is responsible and choosing the winners.
Who is eligible?
High school seniors and undergraduate college students who are:
- Dependent children of full-time employees of firms which are members of the New Hampshire Grocers Association. The parent-employee must have been employed for at least one year as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarships are awarded
- Part-time employees who are full-time students employed by firms which are members of the New Hampshire Grocers Association. Applicants must have been employed for at least six months as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarships are awarded.
- Dues-paying NHGA member firm where employment takes place must be located in New Hampshire.
NOTE: The applicant or the parent of applicant must still be employed by a dues-paying NHGA member firm at the time the winners are announced. Employment must take place at a New Hampshire location.
